Karachi: United Business Group (UBG) has nominated a businessman from Sialkot Dr. Noman Idrees Butt as its presidential candidate for the year 2022. The decision was taken under the Core Committee of Punjab UBG Chairmanship of Mian Muhammad Idrees. UBG has nominated Muhammad Hanif Gohar as its candidate for the post of Senior Vice President in the forth upcoming FPCCI elections. The final approval of the said candidates will be given at a meeting of the Central Committee to be held in Lahore on September 28 under the chairmanship of UBG President Zubair Tufail while Chairman Iftikhar Ali Malik will ratify the decisions. Patron in Chief of UBG S.M. Muneer will not be able to attend due to ill health.
S.M. Muneer said that during the last two years, the members of the business panel have ruined the FPCCI, while UBG has not only improved its finances but also contributed Rs 160 million to the exchequer of the federation during the last five years which is now impoverished.
He expressed these views while addressing a dinner reception hosted by Tariq Polani Chairman Polani Travel Group and Kumail Polani CEO Polani Travel Group in honour of him and guest of honours Aqeel Karim Dhedhi Chairman AKD Group, Bashir Ali Muhammad Chairman Gul Ahmed Textile at their residence.

S.M. Muneer said that inflation is on the rise in the country and the government has to take immediate steps to curb it. The small trader is facing severe problems at present. Yes, the current leadership of FPCCI has failed to curb inflation. He said that Muslims are being killed in India and we thank God that we are breathing in the open air and this is a satisfaction. We have got it because of the struggle and sacrifices of the soldiers of Pakistan Army. Otherwise, we would have been sitting in our homes today. We salute our Chief of Army. UBG has started activities for the Federation elections all over Pakistan. The President has nominated a candidate for the post of Senior Vice President. This time, the opposition group will not be able to commit fraud.
