Karachi: Arts Council of Pakistan District Centre Karachi’s Resident Director Bashir Saddozi and Coordinator President Arts Council Shahid Mahiuddin organized a splendid and memorable event, “Aiteraf Kamal Award” in honor of the renowned senior artist Suhail Munawar. The event was led by Bashir Saddozi, and the arrangements were managed by Sabir Hussain Sabir. At the beginning of the ceremony, Shabbir Hussain Arain recited verses, and the famous poet Nazar Fatimi presented a naat. Shahid Mahiuddin delivered the welcome address.
On this occasion, Resident Director Bashir Saddozi expressed that as long as there are individuals who love Suhail Munawar, such magnificent and memorable events will continue to be organized. It was expected that a prominent artist would be selected to lead this event, but it is Suhail Munawar’s affection that he insisted that I should be the one to preside over his event. I am deeply grateful for his selfless love. Our efforts are aimed at organizing events in honor of the esteemed personalities, and our President, Mr. Ahmed Shah, aspires to have an Arts Council in every district of Karachi. Efforts are underway for this purpose.
Coordinator President Arts Council Karachi, Shahid Mahiuddin, mentioned that Suhail’s plays, such as “Nani Jaan Ki Kahani,” “25 Kahaniyon Mein Badshah,” and “Bhikari,” have gained immense popularity due to his portrayal of various characters. Suhail Munawar has performed 35 different characters in the comedy program “Mazahiya Khakay.” He has also written and acted in numerous drama series, including “Dard Ka Rishta,” Javed Fazil’s drama series “Jaisay Jantay Nahin,” “Be Baak,” “Shiddat,” “Halat,” “Buri Aurat,” “Khawish Be Naam,” and “Kaisi Hai Yeh Zindagi,” which have played a significant role in Suhail’s fame across Pakistan.
Sabir Hussain Sabir praised Suhail Munawar started his artistic journey from Radio Pakistan Karachi’s program “Bazm-e-Talabas” in 1986. This opportunity was given to him by the famous poet, scholar, and producer, Kamar Jameel (late). From 1986 till now, Suhail Munawar has been actively involved in voice acting in countless radio dramas. He has also written numerous humorous scripts and dramas. I admire his remarkable journey in life and his efforts.
Among the esteemed guests who attended the event were Admin Director Shakil Khan, Sadiq Raja, Shabbir Hussain Arain, renowned broadcaster and producer Shaista Sehar Khan, eminent writer Dr. Muhammad Zahid Iqbal, honorable Secretary-General of the Human Rights Organization, Saba Shaikh, renowned journalist and poet Yaqoob Ghaznavi, respected broadcaster Syeda Kousar, senior journalist Khurshid Ahmed, Suhail Munawar’s friend Khalid Imran , Anwar Hussain, Mohsin Jehangir, Basir Zaidi, Ahmed Javed, and many others.
The event was graced by the presence of prominent literary and academic personalities, including Shakir Jamal, Orangzeb Shahzad, Mohsin Naqi, Mumtaz Rajput, Hamid Ashrafi, Mazhar Izhar Mehdi, Rashid Saeed, Muhammad Khalil Parcha, Naeem Ahmed, Ejaz Jafri, Fakhrullah Shahad, Aamir Hanif, Khurshid Ahmed esteemed guest Bashir Saddozai Shahid Mohiuddin and with the Recognition of Aiteraf-e-kamal Award and shields at the end of the event.
