Karachi — A Niaz ceremony commemorating Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S.) was organized by prominent political and social leader Dr. Syeda Rehana Aziz. The event was attended by a large number of notable personalities from various walks of life, including President of Pakistan Peoples Party (Sindh) Nisar Khuhro, General Secretary Senator Syed Waqar Mehdi, Provincial Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani, Nagori, Salman Murad, Alia Malik, and Syeda Barg Baloch.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Syeda Rehana Aziz stated that the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S.) is a profound lesson for all of humanity. “It teaches us to stand firm for truth, justice, and against falsehood,” she said.
She emphasized that the purpose of such gatherings is not only to pay tribute to the martyrs of Karbala but also to promote unity, tolerance, and peace in society. Dr. Rehana Aziz added that the Pakistan Peoples Party has always been a voice for the oppressed, and the ideology of Imam Hussain (A.S.) serves as an inspiration to support the oppressed and stand against tyranny.

On the occasion of the Niaz (commemorative meal) for Hazrat Imam Hussain organized by renowned political and social leader Dr. Syeda Rehana Aziz, several prominent figures were present. These included President of Pakistan Peoples Party (Sindh) Nisar Khuhro, General Secretary Senator Syed Waqar Mehdi, Provincial Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Sindh Minister for Local Government Saeed Ghani, PPP South President Javed Nagori, Taimoor Siyal, Salman Murad, Alia Malik, and Syeda Barg Baloch.
She expressed gratitude to all the esteemed guests and participants for attending the event and reiterated her commitment to continue organizing such spiritual and intellectual gatherings in the future. “These events aim to acquaint the younger generation with the illuminating aspects of Islamic history,” she added.
Dr. Rehana Aziz further said, “The message of Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S.) is a guiding light for people of every era. His sacrifice demonstrated that true success lies in never bowing to falsehood.” She stressed that even in today’s world, we must follow the footsteps of Imam Hussain (A.S.) to combat injustice, oppression, and sectarianism by fostering unity, brotherhood, and compassion, to build a peaceful and strong society.
She concluded by saying that the purpose of this Niaz ceremony was not only to fulfill a religious tradition but also to educate children and youth about the life of Imam Hussain (A.S.) and the universal message of Karbala. Dr. Rehana Aziz highlighted the importance of such spiritual gatherings, stating that they help connect us to our culture, history, and religious values, and play a vital role in the moral development of society.
