Prime Minister Imran Khan sought his support in a meeting with the leadership of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). The meeting between PM Imran Khan and the MQM leadership lasted for about half an hour.
After the no-confidence motion of the opposition, the Prime Minister has mobilized to win the confidence of the allies. In this regard, he had reached Karachi to meet the leaders of MQM Pakistan. Prime Minister Imran Khan was received by PTI and MQM leaders at the MQM’s temporary headquarters in Bahadurabad.
Strict security arrangements were made on the arrival of the Prime Minister in Bahadurabad. Media representatives were also kept away from the center on the occasion. Earlier, on arrival in Karachi, Prime Minister Imran Khan’s helicopter landed at the National Stadium.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Federal Minister Asad Umar, Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi and Sindh Governor Imran Ismail. This is the second visit of the Prime Minister to Karachi in three months.
What was discussed in the meeting?
According to sources, the Prime Minister in his first meeting with the MQM leadership said that the no-confidence motion would soon fail and the sit-in in Islamabad would end soon.
During the meeting, several demands were put before the Prime Minister by the MQM leadership, on which the Prime Minister accepted a demand of the united leadership and assured to reopen the MQM centers.
According to sources, issues of Karachi were also discussed in the meeting in which the Prime Minister said that solution of problems of Karachi was not possible without administrative reforms. In the meeting with the Prime Minister, the united leadership mostly listened to Imran Khan and not many demands were put before him.
Tea to the Prime Minister
On meeting PM Imran Khan, MQM leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that tea was served to PM.

It is also worth mentioning here that this was Imran Khan’s first visit to the MQM Center as Prime Minister. During the visit, Prime Minister Imran Khan had important meetings with MQM Convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and other leaders.
The meeting also discussed the agreement reached between the allies including governance. The progress on the agreement between PTI and MQM was reviewed. During the meeting, the leaders of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) raised their concerns with Prime Minister Imran Khan.
A meeting of PTI MLAs with PM Imran Khan is also scheduled.
MQM zonal office opened
According to unified sources, MQM got back its Hyderabad zonal office. The office has been closed since August 22, 2016. However, the Hyderabad zonal office has been reopened after the assurance of the Prime Minister. However, Nine Zero is still closed.
GDA
During Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Karachi, Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) will not be able to meet Pir Pagara. National Assembly member Saira Bano said that the meeting will not be held due to ill health of Pir Pagara, while Pir Sadruddin Shah is in Khairpur due to personal engagements.
It may be recalled that the Muslim League is a member of the Functional Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) and the GDA is the ruling coalition party in the federation.
