Karachi – P&G Pakistan, in recognition of its women empowerment initiatives and diverse and equitable workplace ethics, was honored with the title of Champion of 2022, at the annual OICCI Women Empowerment Awards held by the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI). The award ceremony was held at OICCI HQ.
OICCI, the oldest and largest investment chamber, plays a major role in the growth of commerce and industry in the country with 200 plus members representing 35 different countries and 14 different sectors of trade and industry. OICCI Women Empowerment Awards are the continuation of the OICCI Women initiative which was launched to encourage member companies to become role models to empower women in the workforce and create gender equality within their respective organizations.
Promoting gender equality and diversity has been a long-standing mission of P&G Pakistan. The company has been actively working to raise their voice to tackle gender bias, remove barriers to education for girls, create economic opportunities for women through corporate and brand programs, and policy advocacy, achieve an inclusive, gender-equal environment within P&G, while also advocating for gender and intersectional equality in workplaces everywhere so that everyone can contribute to their full potential.

P&G Pakistan has various initiatives in place to fulfil its equality and inclusion mission. The company ensures fair and just working opportunities for everyone with a special focus on recruiting and advancing a diverse workforce. As a result, today women constitute almost 46% of the employees at the P&G head office in Karachi with 7 top function leaders being women. For this purpose, P&G is also a member of the US-Pakistan Women’s Council (USPWC). Through its education initiatives, in partnership with Health Oriented Preventive Education (HOPE) and READ Foundation, P&G has provided quality education to ~15,000 girls from underprivileged communities in Pakistan. P&G is also a partner with STEMconnector, to encourage girls and women around the world to pursue, persist and succeed in STEM careers.
