The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suggested a new formula for Pakistan-India matches in any tournament hosted by the BCCI, proposing that they be held at neutral venues.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has extended his stay in Dubai to resolve the dispute, aiming for the Champions Trophy and other matches with India to be played amicably.
National media reports, citing sources, suggest that the new formula has been proposed by Pakistan, with the Champions Trophy matches between Pakistan and India potentially taking place in Dubai.
Additionally, future Pakistan-India matches would be held at neutral venues to avoid the need for the teams to travel to either Pakistan or India, given the political sensitivities involved.
According to media reports, this arrangement would be applicable for the next three years, provided it is accepted by both sides as well as the International Cricket Council (ICC). The authorities have not officially named this formula as a hybrid model.
On the other hand, the ICC has a new chairman, Jay Shah, who was elected unopposed in August, following the end of Greg Barclay’s term. PCB Chairman Naqvi remains committed to securing what is best for Pakistan
