Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has asked the International Cricket Council (ICC) to guarantee the arrival of the Indian team in the Champions Trophy. ICC Chairman Greg Barclay and Chief Executive Geoff Allardice left Lahore for Dubai.
The ICC officials spent two busy days on the important visit, visiting historic sites and the Punjab Safe Cities Authority.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) presented its strong position regarding participation in the World Cup before the officials of the ICC.
According to the media, Pakistan spoke openly about India’s attitude and did not give assurance of participation in the World Cup in India.
PCB made participation in the World Cup in India subject to government permission.
Pakistan sent a message to the ICC that if India shows flexibility regarding the Asia Cup, then Pakistan can also show flexibility in the future.
Media sources say that the PCB expressed reservations over the World Cup venues and raised questions about the low revenue sharing in the financial model.
The ICC assured to look into the matter and appreciated the security arrangements made during the visit of the Punjab Safe Cities Authority.
The ICC officials were briefed by the PCB on the movement of the teams.
