Karachi, Jan 05, 2026 : An awareness seminar marking the Right to Self-Determination Day of Kashmir was organized by the Youth Forum for Kashmir in Karachi.
The event commemorated Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan’s 1949 address supporting the Kashmiri people’s right to decide their future in line with UN resolutions. Students, civil society members, media representatives, and the public attended.
MNA Ahmed Salim Siddiqui stated that the UN resolution passed in 1949 affirms Kashmiris’ right to self-determination, which he said continues to be denied. He emphasized the need to educate the younger generation about the Kashmir issue.
Speakers including Sabir Abo Mariyam (Secretary General, Palestine Foundation Pakistan), Manzoor (Member, Pakistan Markazi Muslim League), and Khizra (Coordinator, Women Wing, Pakistan Nazryati Party) unanimously stressed the importance of raising youth awareness about Kashmir and national identity.
