Houston-TX: The Pakistani American Legacy Foundation (PALF) organized its first Gala Dinner to Honor recipients of Pakistan’s Civil Awards. The honorees include the first Pakistani American Syed Javaid Anwar, who was bestowed with the Second highest Civil Award Hilal-e-Imtiaz and Tahir Javed with the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz by the President of Pakistan. On this occasion Dr. Asad Majeed Khan, Ambassador of Pakistan to USA, was the Chief Guest and more than 500 community members from all walks of life were in attendance including media.
While addressing Gala 2021 Ambassador Dr. Asad Majeed Khan, applauds the hard work of Pakistani Diaspora in Enhancing US-PAK relations. He also paid special tribute & quotes S. Javaid Anwar and Tahir Javed as example and called their achievements a prestigious honor for the State of Texas and Community living here. Consul General Abrar Hashmi, Honoree Tahir Javed, Spokesperson on behalf S. Javaid Anwar Dr. Shahid Aziz & office bearers of PALF including President Haroon Sheikh, Event Chair M. J. Khan, Director Dr. Asaf Qadeer & Coordinator M. Saeed Sheikh were amongst those who spoke the occasion.
The event was beautifully moderated by Zeenat Mitha while the Invocation was done by Hafiz Fahad Zaman & National Anthems of USA & Pakistan was sung by Zara Khan. The highlights of the event include a Legacy Award presented to both honorees, special social hour with a touch of Pakistani Culture & performance by Riyaaz Qawwal and delicious food catered by Aga’s Restaurant with the coordination of Mr. Tahir Bhatti.
