The 42-year-old Sikh from Punjab has been awarded a doctorate for the first time in Pakistan’s history.
For the first time, a man from the Sikh community named Kalyan Singh Kalyan has obtained his Ph.D. degree. He completed his Ph.D. from Punjab University.
He has completed his Ph.D. dissertation under the supervision of eminent Punjabi researcher Prof. Dr. Naveed Shehzad.
The title of Kalyan Singh’s dissertation was The Philosophy of Humanism in Guru Nanak’s Teachings. His dissertation consists of 600 pages which he attributed to his mother.
Kalyan also has the honor of being the first Sikh Assistant Professor in Pakistan. In this regard, he said that it is a matter of honor for me that I am the first Ph.D. Sikh in Pakistan.
Sardar Kalyan Singh Kalyan was born on December 12, 1979, in Nankana Sahib and received his early education at Government Guru Nanak High School where students of all religions studied.
Kalyan Singh Kalyan, 42, is married and has three daughters and a son.
Sardar Kalyan Singh Kalyan did his Masters from Punjab University, he also did M.Phil in Punjabi in 2016.
He graduated from Government Nankana Sahib College affiliated with Punjab University in 2005. He is serving as Assistant Professor of Punjabi at Government College University, Lahore. After being selected by the Public Service Commission, he also served in Gujranwala and Gulberg Colleges.
Sardar Kalyan Singh studied computer technology with a certificate in Internet Tools from Quaid-e-Azam Institute of Computer Sciences in June 2003 and later obtained DCA and WPD from the same institute. This additional feature helped him in his research work on Punjabi script.
