In the sixth group match of the Asia Cup T20, Pakistan easily defeated Hong Kong by 155 runs and qualified for the Super Four stage.
In response to the 193 runs of the green shirts, the Hong Kong team was out by scoring only 38 runs, no player from the rival team could reach double figures, captain Nazakat Khan was the top scorer with 8 runs.
Shadab Khan guided 4 players to the pavilion while Muhammad Nawaz took 3 wickets, Naseem Shah 2 and Shahnawaz Durmani took 1 wicket.
Batting first, Pakistan’s first wicket fell on a total of 13, captain Babar Azam returned to the pavilion after scoring only 9 runs, he was dismissed by Ehsan Khan.
Opener Muhammad Rizwan then put on a 116-run partnership with Fakhar Zaman, both players completing their respective half-centuries in the process and leaving the Hong Kong bowlers unbeaten.
On a total of 129, Fakhar Zaman scored 53 runs off 41 balls with the help of 2 sixes and 3 fours, he became the second victim of Ehsan Khan.
After that, Khushdil Shah came to the crease to support Mohammad Rizwan, he played a blistering innings of 35 runs off 15 balls, during which he hit 5 sixes.
Mohammad Rizwan, who crossed the milestone of 5000 T20 runs during the match, played 57 balls and scored an unbeaten 78 runs.
Earlier, in the match being played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, the Hong Kong captain won the toss and decided to field against Pakistan.
This being the last match of the group stage, the match has become a ‘do and die’ for Pakistan and Hong Kong, with the winner of the match making it to the Super 4 stage of the event.
After winning the toss, Hong Kong team captain Nizakat Khan said that we bowled well against India, we are good at chasing the target, so we decided to bowl.
Babar Azam said that in these conditions we also wanted to bowl, no change was made in the Pakistan team.
