RAWALPINDI,— Malaysia and Pakistan have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening defence cooperation and strategic engagement following a high-level meeting at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

Malaysian Minister of Home Affairs Saifuddin Nasution Bin Ismail, accompanied by the Malaysian ambassador to Pakistan and a senior delegation, met Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF).

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed Pakistan-Malaysia relations, with discussions focusing on regional security developments and matters of mutual interest. Both delegations emphasised the longstanding and close relationship between the two countries.

The officials reaffirmed the strong bonds between Pakistan and Malaysia and expressed a shared desire to expand cooperation in areas of common interest. The discussions also highlighted the importance of continued engagement between the two countries amid evolving regional security challenges.

Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening defence collaboration with Malaysia. He also underscored the importance of enhancing strategic engagement and cooperation between the two countries.
