In the ICCT Twenty Cricket World Cup Super 12 stage match, India defeated Pakistan by 4 wickets, but a new controversy arose after Muhammad Nawaz’s no-ball in the 20th over, while former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg umpired. But raised the question.
In the opening match at Millburn, the Indian team was batting in pursuit of 160 runs, when Haris Rauf completed his 19th over, India needed 16 runs in the last over to win.
Muhammad Nawaz came to bowl the last over, he gave Kohli a full toss on the fourth ball of the over, on which Kohli had scored 6 runs, but the umpire declared the ball a no-ball, due to which India not only got 7 runs. Rather, a free hit was also found which made India’s win easy.
The umpire called it a no-ball when the ball came up, but national team captain Babar Azam was not satisfied with the umpire’s decision and protested against it.
After the match, the umpire’s decision to give the no ball became controversial and it has also been heavily criticized on social media.
Former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg wrote in his Twitter message that why did the umpire not review the ball which was declared a no ball by Muhammad Nawaz?
Brad Hogg said that when Virat Kohli was bowled on a free hit, why was the ball not declared a dead ball?
