Pakistan Denounces Indian Defence Minister’s Comments on Assassination Campaign.

Pakistan: Pakistan has strongly condemned the “provocative” remarks made by Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who appeared to confirm India’s involvement in an assassination campaign in Pakistan. Singh’s comments came in response to a report by The Guardian alleging that Indian intelligence operatives were behind at least 20 murders in Pakistan since 2020.

Singh stated in a televised interview that India would pursue and kill terrorists who escape to Pakistan, confirming a new policy of targeting enemies and dissidents on foreign soil. This acknowledgment marks the first time India has admitted to such actions.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office issued a statement condemning Singh’s remarks, emphasizing that Pakistan had provided “irrefutable evidence” of India’s involvement in extrajudicial killings and transnational assassinations on Pakistani soil.

The statement called for international accountability, stating that India’s actions undermined regional peace and impeded prospects for constructive engagement. Pakistan reiterated its commitment to peace but emphasized its resolve to protect its sovereignty.

The international community has been urged to take notice of India’s extrajudicial killings, with Pakistan asserting its capability to defend itself while advocating for peace in the region.
