Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have finalized the 2025 Hajj agreement, allowing 179,210 Pakistani pilgrims to perform the annual pilgrimage this year.
The agreement was signed in Jeddah by Pakistan’s Minister for Religious Affairs, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, and Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabi’ah. Hussain is on a three-day visit to the Kingdom to participate in the Global Hajj and Umrah Conference and Expo.
“Under the agreement, 179,210 Pakistanis will perform Hajj this year,” said a spokesperson for Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs, as reported by the Press Information Department (PID). “Both sides have agreed to provide the best possible facilities to Pakistani pilgrims.”
The spokesperson highlighted that Pakistani pilgrims will have a dedicated area in Mina with affordable rates.
Moreover, a shorter Hajj program, lasting 20 to 25 days, has been introduced to make the pilgrimage more accessible and comfortable. Pilgrims will also have the option to spend four to eight days in Madinah during their journey.
Each Pakistani pilgrim will receive a specially designed bag featuring the national flag, a QR code for identification, and essential Hajj-related information, the spokesperson added.
