Houston, Texas: Chief Secretary of Pakistan Peoples Party, USA Syed Raiz Hussain and President of Houston Karachi Sister City Association Muhammad Saeed Sheikh hosted a dinner reception in honour of Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig Chairman of Baig Group.
Which was attended by the Elite of the city, and the Business Community including; Fahad Hussain President PPP Houston, Sajjad Burki Focal Person for USA to Chairman PTI, Atif Iqbal Khan President PTI Texas, Zafar Ahmed General Secretary PMLN Texas USA, Founder & CEO Radio Dabang 99.5FM Moid Khan, and Hassan Ali Momin Aga Community USA.
Zafar Ahmed, General Secretary PML(N) Texas USA warmly welcomed Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig and presented Texas traditional Cowboy Hat then Fahad Hussain President PPP Houston presented Ajrak (traditional block-printed shawl) to Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig.
Houstonians are considered to be the kindest people. One of the most devastated cities in Pakistan right now is Karachi (the commercial and financial hub of Pakistan), which is the Sister City of Houston.
Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig said, “We are trying to reach as many affected families as possible to provide food and shelter. Most of the area of Pakistan has been submerged due to the biggest flood in history.
“These are unprecedented times. All of us need to work together and do as much as we can for the people of Pakistan,” Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig added.
In response to one of the worst humanitarian disasters to hit the country in past few years, He said humanity is suffering in the flood-affected areas, and helping the affected people is not only the job of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, but the federal ministers should also visit the affected areas and help the victims.
Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig appealed to overseas Pakistani and charity organizations to help the families affected by the recent floods in Sindh, Balochistan, KPK, and Punjab.
