Karachi (Staff Reporter): Dr. Sham Sundar K. Advani, Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) Sindh and Parliamentary Secretary affiliated with the Pakistan People’s Party, has strongly condemned the brutal assault on a Hindu youth named Dheeraj, a resident of Ranchore Line, allegedly perpetrated by an individual named Salman Farooqi.
In a statement issued following the circulation of a viral video on social media—showing the victim being subjected to severe physical violence, verbal abuse, and pleas from his sister to stop the aggression—Dr. Sham Sundar praised the police for their prompt action, which led to the immediate arrest of the accused. He termed the arrest a commendable step and lauded the performance of the police force.
Dr. Sundar emphasized that no individual has the right to take the law into their own hands, stating, “The increasing oppression by influential individuals against common citizens has become a plague on our society. The Sindh government will not tolerate such acts and will ensure justice is served.”
He further noted that while the arrest of the accused is a positive development, the responsibility of the state does not end there. “It is the duty of the government to ensure the continued safety and protection of the victim and his family,” he said, reaffirming that the Sindh government is fully committed to fulfilling this responsibility.
Dr. Sham K. Sundar expressed that safeguarding the lives and property of the citizens is the foremost priority of the Chief Minister of Sindh. He announced his intention to personally visit the affected Hindu family to offer support and solidarity. “It is our moral obligation to make them feel that the government stands firmly with them. The perpetrator will be brought to justice in accordance with the law,” he affirmed.
