President North Karachi Association of Trade & Industry (NKATI), Faisal Moiz Khan, while strongly condemning K-Electric’s move of load shedding in the industrial area at night, appealed to the government to ensure uninterrupted power supply to save the industries from being destroyed. Otherwise, industries will be locked down and large numbers of workers will be unemployed.
In an appeal to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Faisal Moiz Khan said that in the current situation, the industrial community cannot afford power outage in any case as it is already difficult to run the industries due to high cost of production, and now the load shedding in the industrial area from 12:00 PM to 8:00 AM will adversely affect the production activities as a result of which the industries will be closed down while the crime incidents will also increase
“On the one hand, the government emphasizes on promoting industries and increasing exports, on the other hand, anti-industry measures are being taken. How can industries and exports be promoted in such a situation”, he questioned.
Faisal Moiz appealed to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to issue instructions to K-Electric for uninterrupted power supply to industries in Karachi so that the industrial wheel can turn round and create more employment opportunities.
