Hyderabad (August 13, 2025): In a heartfelt gesture to commemorate Pakistan's Independence Day
and the recent success of Operation Buny?n-ul-Mars?s, Marka-e-Haq, a delegation of students from
the Shaheed Allah Buksh Soomro (SABS) University of Art, Design and Heritages, Jamshoro,visited the Sir Cowasjee Jehangir Institute of Psychiatry in Hyderabad.
Led by focal person Kashif Shahzad, the students engaged in a range of interactive and creative activities with patients undergoing treatment. This included friendly interactions, aimed at promoting mental well-being and inclusion. The students also distributed sweets among the patients, bringing joy and festivity to the occasion and celebrated nation’s success together.
Vice-Chancellor, SABS University Jamshoro, Prof. Dr. Arabella Bhutto, also paid a special visit to
the institute. She spent time interacting with patients and commended the initiative, highlighting the
importance of empathy, national pride, community engagement, and mental health awareness among
the younger generation.
Dr. Bhutto discussed future collaboration with doctors and administration of
Sir Cowasjee Jehangir Institute of Psychiatry in Hyderabad between both institutes. She offered them
to prepare plans for renovation and preservation of multiple heritage buildings in the premises of
institute by expert architects from SABS University. Vice-Chancellor also offered them to introduce
various digital rehabilitation plans prepared by SABS University experts of Fine Art and
Communication Design. SABS University Jamshoro and Sir Cowasjee Jehangir Institute of
Psychiatry in Hyderabad agreed to sign a MoU in near future and collaborate in various fields of
interest.
