QUETTA – The Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has released a revised schedule for the 2025 intermediate examinations, postponing them for three weeks without specifying the reasons.
According to the board chairman, the exams will now commence on May 2, 2025. The board had initially announced the delay on April 21, citing unavoidable circumstances that forced the postponement of exams originally slated to start on April 22.
An official notification confirmed the rescheduling, attributing the decision to unforeseen administrative challenges.
Meanwhile, the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has also delayed its annual intermediate exams, which were set to begin on April 28. The examinations in Karachi will now start on May 5.
The postponement in Karachi was directed by the board chairman for two main reasons: the ongoing process of awarding grace marks in mathematics, chemistry, and physics for first-year students of the 2024 pre-medical, pre-engineering, and general science groups, and the unavailability of several examination centers, which remain occupied until May 8 due to ongoing matriculation exams.
