Karachi, February 22, 2024: Ms. Gulmina Bilal Ahmad, Chairperson National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), is currently on a two-day visit to Sindh, focusing on fostering collaborations and enhancing youth development opportunities.
Commencing the series of meetings, Ms. Gulmina Bilal Ahmad met with Mr. Muawar Ali Mithani, Managing Director of Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA). The discussions aimed to strengthen the partnership between NAVTTC and Sindh TEVTA to advance vocational training programs in the region.
Later, Ms. Gulmina Bilal Ahmad met with representatives from the Pakistan IT Industry Association (P@SHA). Addressing the gathering, she emphasized, “Together, we need to explore possibilities of equipping our youth with IT skills so that we can capitalize on the youth bulge and tap into the global market, yielding remittances for the country through human resource development.”
In another pivotal meeting with the President of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and other chamber officials, the discussion focused on better collaborative efforts between NAVTTC and the business community to create employment opportunities and a conducive environment for youth development.
The Chairperson NAVTTC and the President of KCCI also had an in-depth discussion regarding different facets of the Prime Minister Youth Skill Development Program. The President of the Chamber of Commerce expressed confidence in the full cooperation and support of the industry for this initiative.
In a significant development, plans for future collaborations were solidified as Ms. Gulmina Bilal Ahmad, alongside NAVTTC representatives and industry leaders, prepares to sign memorandums of understanding (MOUs). These agreements are poised to unlock new employment opportunities for the youth.
