India’s Supreme Court has released Muslim journalist Muhammad Zubair, who was arrested last month, on bail, but he will remain in police custody due to another case.
Muhammad Zubair had set up a fact-checking website and tweeted about the government’s actions against the Muslim minority in India.
Muhammad Zubair was arrested on charges of insulting Hindu religious figures.
A two-member bench of the Supreme Court released Muhammad Zubair on five-day bail and ordered him not to tweet or alter any electronic evidence.
