Lahore, Pakistan – Ms. Yulia Bazhenova, Project Manager at GIZ, met with Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh, President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), at the FPCCI Regional Office in Lahore. The discussion included prominent FPCCI figures such as Mr. Zaki Aijaz, Regional Chairman/VP FPCCI, Ms. Qurrat ul Ain, VP FPCCI, Mr. Asim Inam, VP FPCCI, Abdul Mohamin Khan, VP FPCCI, and Ms. Saman Haseeb, Economic Cooperation and Private Sector Development Advisor at GIZ.
The primary agenda of the meeting was the establishment of a Responsible Business Helpdesk (RBH) in Pakistan. This initiative, within the Business Coordinating Council, aims to serve as an advisory center for companies on Environmental Due Diligence and Human Rights. The RBH will provide essential services including awareness programs, advisory support, training, and dialogue opportunities to both large and small businesses. The goal is to enhance the implementation of Human Rights Due Diligence across supply chains in Pakistan, promoting ethical business practices and sustainable development.
