KARACHI: Hamdard Pakistan has inaugurated the first-of-its-kind ‘Hamdard Regimental Therapy Centre and Matab’, a digital clinic situated at the junction of Shahrah-e-Quadeen and Shahrah-e-Faisal in Karachi. This initiative aims to broaden the reach of Hamdard’s medical facilities, offering cost-effective and proven treatments to a larger population. The inaugural ceremony took place yesterday, in which Ms. Sadia Rashid, President of Hamdard Pakistan, graced the inaugural event as the chief guest and officially inaugurated the centre by cutting the ribbon.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Sadia Rashid highlighted the expanded scope of medical services of Hamdard Pakistan. “The addition of this modern digital Matab, amidst the existing network of 35 Hamdard Matabs across 31 cities, is deemed crucial given the rising health challenges in the nation coupled with insufficient treatment facilities. The residents of Defense Clifton, PECHS, and Mehmoodabad had long expressed the need for a nearby Matab to address their medical concerns. Considering Shahrah-e-Faisal’s central location in Karachi, this digital Matab located at this junction is expected to serve as a convenient healthcare facility for the local population,” she said.
She added that the new Matab features a state-of-the-art computerized management system for storing patients’ medical history, eliminating the need for them to visit to repurchase prescribed medicines. Patients can conveniently order their prescriptions from home. One more unique offering of the digital Matab is cupping therapy, for which trained and experienced staff have been deployed.
As per the environment-friendly practices, Ms. Sadia Rashid, along with other honourable guests also planted plants outside the green belt.
The inaugural ceremony witnessed the presence of esteemed individuals, including Navaid-ul-Zafar, Senior Trustee of Hamdard Pakistan; Fatema Munir Ahmed, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer; Farrukh Imdad, Director General of Hamdard Foundation Pakistan; Professor Dr. Hakim Abdul-Hanan; Brig. (r) Dr. Riaz-ul-Haq, CEO of Taj Medical Hamdard University Hospital; Prof. Dr. Syed Shabib-ul-Hassan, Vice Chancellor of Hamdard University; Prof. Dr. Ahsana Dar Farooq, Head of Faculty of Eastern Medicine; Syed Ali Bukhari, Deputy Director of Hamdard Foundation Pakistan (Lahore), along with other directors and deputy directors. The event was also attended by a diverse audience representing various segments of society.
