Hyderabad: More than 10 million people have been affected by the rains in Sindh this was said by the chief guest Hina Dastagir, MPA (PPP) and Head of Shaheed Benazir Youth Development Program, in the concluding ceremony of five-day electronic media workshop in Hyderabad.
The honorary guest said that the government has now started a rehabilitation program to provide relief of the victims. She assured that government will continue to help the victims until their full recovery.
PPP MPA Hina Dastagir stated that her own village is submerged in water. It is a natural disaster that has affected Sindh the most and the government alone cannot do anything with a disaster of this magnitude, said Dastagir.
Dastagir assured that in the first phase, Rs 25,000 has been provided under the Benazir Income Support Program.
PPP MPA Hina Dastagir after concluding the workshop distributed certificates among the participants. Students from major universities of the city associated with journalism participated in this training program. This workshop “Climate Change, Floods & the Role of Media: Reporting & Coverage of Human Suffering” was arranged by Women Media Center, Pakistan in collaboration with National Endowment for Democracy, USA.
