The Lahore High Court has accepted the request for the return of the passport of Maryam Nawaz, the daughter of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the leader of Muslim League-N.
A 3-member bench headed by Chief Justice Muhammad Amir Bhatti of Lahore High Court heard the various petitions filed for obtaining the passport of Maryam Nawaz.
The Supreme Court also directed to return the passport of Maryam Nawaz during the hearing.
On the occasion of the last hearing, NAB submitted a reply in the Lahore High Court that Maryam Nawaz’s passport is no longer needed.
NAB had said in the response submitted to the court that the position in Maryam Nawaz’s application is for the implementation of fundamental rights.
In its reply, NAB also said that the Supreme Court has said that no one can be deprived of constitutional rights when a criminal case is registered.
The Supreme Court had adjourned the hearing of the miscellaneous application filed for obtaining Maryam Nawaz’s passport till October 3.
