A madressah teacher in Haripur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a five-year-old visually impaired child, according to District Police Officer (DPO) Farhan.
The incident came to light after the victim’s family lodged a complaint on July 10 at Saddar Police Station, prompting authorities to register a First Information Report (FIR).
As per the FIR, the assault took place inside the mosque’s room where the child, who is visually impaired, regularly visited to recite the Holy Quran.
The suspect, Noor Jalil, son of Muhammad Ansar and a resident of Palas Kohistan, was taken into custody by a police team led by DSP Saddar Muhammad Arif and SHO Inspector Akhtar Hussain.
The case has been filed under Section 376.53 of the Criminal Procedure Act. Police officials confirmed that the accused is in custody, and a thorough investigation is currently in progress.
