Karachi (Staff Reporter): In a significant move aimed at strengthening local industry and promoting cottage enterprises, Air Karachi’s Chief Financial Officer, Reja Saleem, emphasized that such initiatives not only create employment opportunities but also stimulate economic activity. She expressed these views while addressing the inauguration ceremony of Faisal Fabrics and Faisal Garments.
Reja Saleem lauded the private sector’s efforts in establishing cottage industries, describing them as a welcome and meaningful step toward economic self-reliance. She highlighted that empowering local businesses is essential for sustainable growth and long-term economic stability.
On the occasion, Asma Aamir, Vice President of the Handicrafts Association of Pakistan, stated that promoting local handicrafts and the textile sector is the need of the hour. She reaffirmed the association’s commitment to supporting initiatives that encourage skilled artisans and help provide a distinct identity to locally manufactured products in competitive markets.
The ceremony was attended by individuals from various walks of life. Association members Qurrat-ul-Ain and Shumaila Khan were also present at the event. Participants termed the initiative a positive development for the advancement of local industry.
During the event, Faisal Fabrics and Faisal Garments were formally launched, along with the inauguration of a cottage industry project aimed at empowering local artisans and strengthening home-based enterprises.
The ceremony concluded with an iftar and dinner, where guests appreciated the hosts’ efforts and engaged in informal discussions in a cordial atmosphere.
