I want to address the problem for the lack of food hygiene in restaurants in Karachi, through it. Due to the lack of check and balance by the government on food hygiene in the metropolitan city of Karachi, the restaurants here do not meet the standards of hygiene either in food nor in the cleanliness of the kitchen.
Many upper- and lower-class restaurants re-use dirty black oil, insects are seen crawling inside the kitchen and are sometimes found in the food, substandard meat and rotten vegetables are used, the workers who handle the food don’t wear gloves or caps and at the same time don’t bother about personal hygiene. Not only is this unfair to the people of Karachi it is a crime because the people should not have to fear going out to eat and it is our right to get clean and safe food to consume. Unfortunately, this unhygienic food also causes many diseases, making people sick and sometimes causing death.
