Karachi Women Chamber Malir Emerges as a Strong Voice for Women Entrepreneurs: Nazli Abid.
KARCHI, September 18, 2024: In the Karachi Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry Malir (KWCCI Malir) annual elections for 2024-26, Tasneem Hamid was elected President, Shiza Farooqui Senior Vice President, and Mehwish Kiyani Vice President. At the Annual General Meeting held at a local hotel, the founder president of KWCCI Malir and former Vice President of FPCCI, Nazli Abid Nisar, administered the oath to the newly elected officials and the 15 members of the Executive Committee.
During the AGM, all Executive Committee members and members approved the annual accounts by a large majority, and responsibilities were assigned to the newly elected officials. The meeting was attended by KWCCI Malir’s Patron-in-Chief Abid Nisar, Chief Guest and Chairperson of SAARC Women Chamber Hina Mansab Khan, Dermatologist Zarnaz Wahid, former VP of FPCCI Shabbir Mansha, former VP of FPCCI Adeel Siddiqui, Parliamentary Secretary for Environment, Youth, and Sports Yousuf Baloch, Collector of Customs Naima Batool, Psychologist Fiza Aslam, PP Information Secretary City Hyderabad Nadeem Jatoi, former SVP of KWCCI Malir Afzala Shaheen, former VP Yasmin Arif, among others.
Nazli Abid Nisar, who is also the Convener of FPCCI’s Women Entrepreneur Committee, stated that due to prolonged efforts and teamwork, the KWCCI Malir has become a strong voice for women entrepreneurs. Our goal is to encourage and provide opportunities for women entrepreneurs. Nazli shared that she has been working for the welfare and empowerment of women for the past 12 years, with ‘Support A Mom’ being one of her initiatives. KWCCI Malir has also organized numerous exhibitions, training sessions, and panel discussions.

She cited the life of Hazrat Khadija (RA) as a role model for women, emphasizing that our beloved Prophet (SAW) fully supported Hazrat Khadija (RA) in her business endeavors. Nazli Abid urged support for women entrepreneurs, acknowledging that behind every successful person, there is a significant role played by a woman.
Hina Mansab Khan, Chairperson of the SAARC Women Chamber, praised the efforts of KWCCI Malir’s founder president Nazli Abid for providing a strong platform to address women entrepreneurs’ issues, stating that this is the result of five years of struggle, not just one day. She also requested that the government provide loans on easy terms for cottage industries and fund exhibitions organized by TDAP.
Patron-in-Chief of KWCCI Malir Abid Nisar commended the struggles of women entrepreneurs and urged them to take advantage of government loans. He requested the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to introduce simplified forms for funds allocated for women entrepreneurs to meet the criteria.
Shabbir Mansha, Former FPCCI Vice President requested the Parliamentary Secretary for Environment, Youth, and Sports Yusuf Baloch to talk to the Sindh government about providing land for KWCCI Malir’s office. He also urged the State Bank to make commercial banks prioritize loans for women entrepreneurs and provide them with grants.

He noted that Benazir Bhutto played a crucial role in empowering women, and the PPP leadership has made significant efforts in women’s empowerment, including the establishment of the First Women Bank and Benazir Income Support Funds, as well as important initiatives for women in Thar.
