Karachi : The University of Karachi is starting its online admission process for entry test-based admissions for the academic session 2025 morning program from October 28, 2024. It was announced during the KU Admission Committee meeting held at the Vice Chancellor Secretariat on Wednesday.
The meeting was chaired by the KU VC Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi and attended by the admission committee members. On this occasion, the in-charge Directorate of Admissions Professor Dr Saima Akhtar briefed the members about the entry test-based online admission for the morning batch in detail.
She shared that students interested in admissions to entry-test-based departments in BS First Year, B.Ed (H), BE four-year programs, Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm-D) in morning and evening shifts, and the Department of Visual Studies can submit their online admission forms from October 28 to November 06, 2024.
Professor Dr Saima Akhtar mentioned that KU will conduct the cut entry test for the BS First Year, B.Ed (H), BE four-year programs, and Pharm-D on November 17, 2024. The aptitude test for visual studies will be held on November 10, 2024.
She said that the announcement of the admission list for the visual studies department is scheduled for November 30 and November 26, 2024, for the BS First Year, B.Ed (H), BE, Pharm-D programs.
The KU is offering entry-test based admissions in BS, B.Ed (H), and BE four-year degree programs in applied chemistry and chemical technology, applied physics, biotechnology, business administration (BBA), BE chemical engineering, commerce, BSCS and BSCE computer science, criminology, Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) a five years program, education, environmental studies, food science and technology, human nutrition and dietetics, international relations, mass communication, petroleum technology, public administration, special education, sports business management, teacher education, Pharm-D in morning and evening shifts (five years program), and fine art, design, and a five-year program of architecture in the visual studies.
The University of Karachi will also arrange open house sessions for prospective candidates to inform them about the test details and requirements essential for admission to specific departments and to guide them through the admission process.
The candidates are directed to visit KU’s official web portal to access detailed information about prospectus and admission forms, eligibility criteria, available programs, prospectus fees, admission fees, semester tuition fees, and the step-by-step application process. All the admission-related information will be uploaded on the portal on October 28, 2024.

Meanwhile, the in-charge Directorate of Admissions Professor Dr Saima Akhtar told the participants of the admission committee that open merit base online admission in BS First and Third Years in the morning program would be announced on November 18, 2024, and interested candidates could submit their forms till November 28, 2024.
According to her, online open merit base admissions in BS First and Third Year and in diploma and certificate courses in the evening program will be announced on December 09, 2024, and forms can be submitted till December 18, 2024.
