Detailed discussions took place in the meeting with Members of the Association, wherein they shared their grievances at length with the KE Officials. The conclusion was that the problem currently being faced by the industries is not due to technical faults, but rather due to legal action against massive power theft from two specific Industrial Feeders. Cursory details from KE regarding the theft revealed a vast and intricate network of supply, including cables and ancillary equipment. As a result, all industries as well as K-Electric is facing problem.

KE officials updated that they are in constant touch with Law Enforcement Agencies for amicable resolution and removal of the aforementioned system for good so that industrial supply can be resumed without delay.

Ms. Sadia Dada also requested the Association and the affected Members to extend support and assured S.I.T.E. Association of Industry to restore power supply of all affected industries by close of business on 5th January.

Chief Coordinator Saleem Parekh stressed the K-Electric to compensate losses suffered by the affected industries by passing on some benefit from the amount saved on account of electricity theft as the industries have already suffered huge financial and production losses during the past two weeks and are facing tough time.

Moreover, it was also decided to set up a Helpdesk at the office of S.I.T.E. Association of Industry on regular basis to address member’s issues related to KE, with the schedule and timings to be decided mutually.

Muhammad Riaz Dhedhi (Vice President), Muhammad Kamran Arbi (Immediate Past President), Abdul Hadi (Former President), Saleem Nagaia (Former SVP) & representatives of affected industries attended the meeting.
