KARACHI – Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI) has welcomed the decision of PM Imran Khan to establish Export Development Board under his supervision and landed hope for revolutionary initiative for industrial sector in future.
Patron-in-Chief of KATI SM Muneer said that PM Khan has taken many well deserved initiatives for the revival of industrial production in the times of pandemic and promotion of exports, and we hope that now establishment of Export Development Board under his supervision will prove an effective and game changing decision towards prominent increase in country’s exports.
President KATI Saleem-uz-Zaman noted that as financial stimulates given by PM Khan government helped to maintain pace of industrial production and exports during covid-19 crisis, it is hoped that this decision would also bring some good news for the industrial sector of the country. He said that post coronavirus, circumstances require to revisit our economic policies as per changing local and international scenarios. He mentioned that while financial stimulates for industry was a helpful step taken by the government, along with the continuation of such initiative this time to bring down interest at least to 4 pc. Saleem-uz-Zaman said that PM Khan acknowledged the challenges of industries regarding higher cost of production, with this clear vision we hope that more decisions would be taken in due course. He added that higher prices and interrupted supply of gas are the biggest hurdles in industrial production and growth, this issue should be dealt with futuristic approach. He said PM Khan always stressed on the importance of exports for national economy, and we hope that after establishing Export Development Board more relief and support would be offered to the industrial sector of Pakistan.
