KARACHI – President of Korangi Association Trade & Industry (KATI) Sheikh Umer Rehan has urged the government to allow social events to secure the livelihood of millions related to the catering and event management businesses.
According to details a delegation of Caterers, Decorators and Event Organizers headed by its chairman Qais Mansoor Sheikh meet the President KATI and briefed him about their concerns. President KATI said that due to corona pandemic unemployment emerged as one of biggest challenge. He said due to restriction on public gathering and social event business of Caterers, Marriage halls and other related services were closed down since months. He noted that as the other business activities were allowed with SOPs, in the same way it is possible to lift ban on social gathering and event and allow them with precautionary measures as the employment of millions is directly and indirectly related to this service sector.
Chairman of event organizers association Qais Mansoor told that at least millions of employments are directly linked to this sector, government should take measure to secure their livelihood. Vice Chairman of the association Junaid Urrehman and General Secretory Bashir Ahmed were also present at the occasion.
