Karachi: Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) has pledged unwavering support to Federal
Minister for Industry and Commerce, Dr. Gohar Ejaz, in his bold endeavor to propel the export revenue
to an impressive $100 billion. President Faraz-ur-Rehman, Patron-in-Chief SM Tanveer, and Deputy
Patron-in-Chief Zubair Chhaya expressed their appreciation for the minister’s commitment and heralded
the inclusion of first-time stakeholders in advisory committees.

Breaking away from tradition, where policies were typically imposed without stakeholder consultation,
KATI leaders lauded Dr. Gohar Ejaz for recognizing the crucial role of industry players in policy
formulation. President Faraz-ur-Rehman assured full cooperation, emphasizing that KATI and the
Pakistan Business Group (PBGO) would actively contribute suggestions to the government, marking a
historic collaboration between the government and the business community.

Recognizing Dr. Gohar Ejaz’s unique position as an experienced businessman turned minister, KATI
leaders expressed confidence that this approach would steer Pakistan’s economy in the right direction.
Faraz-ur-Rehman highlighted the unprecedented inclusion of the business community in advisory
committees, signaling a positive shift towards inclusive policymaking.

Acknowledging the efforts of caretaker ministers and the Army Chief, President KATI reflected on the
recent economic turnaround. From a severe crisis with a soaring dollar, a sluggish stock market, and
rampant illegal activities, the nation has witnessed a remarkable transformation. The economic growth
rate, once in the negative, is now expected to surge by more than 2 percent, showcasing the tangible
impact of recent initiatives.

Looking ahead, Faraz-ur-Rehman expressed optimism that if the current policy trajectory is maintained,
Pakistan’s economy could soon experience double-digit growth, realizing Dr. Gohar Ejaz’s ambitious
vision of achieving a $100 billion export vision. The business community stands united in its support for
this transformative journey, anticipating a brighter economic future for the nation..
