Karachi: Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) President Faraz-ur-Rehman and District Municipal Corporation (DMC) Korangi Administrator Muhammad Sharif Khan have reached an agreement according to which DMC will carry out development work on the defunct vehicles/tractor trolleys have been handed over to KATI.
Thus KATI will repair these vehicles at their own expense and use these vehicles for cleaning the Korangi Industrial Area and solving the problems of the members. In the ceremony, to pay tribute to the late Haji Fazal-ur-Rehman, the founder of KATI and the father of President Faraz-ur-Rehman, a memorial monument will be established on the road adjacent to the KATI office, which will be named after him.
KATI Senior Vice President Nighat Awan, Vice President Muslim Mohammadi, Ahsan Farooqui, Syed Talha Ali, Municipal Commissioner Korangi Ashfaq Malah, Senior Director Council Javed Ahmed, Adnan Khan and others were also present in the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, KATI President Faraz-ur-Rehman said that KATI will take responsibility for the defunct vehicles of DMC and bear their expenses so that the development works and sanitation arrangements of the industrial area can be carried out effectively under our supervision. He said that in the past, KATI members took responsibility for the beautification of the industrial area and the maintenance of roads under their help, which is the reason why today KATI is the best among all the industrial areas of Karachi and is a role model. He thanked Administrator Korangi Sharif Khan for building a memorial to recognize the services of his father, the late Haji Fazal-ur-Rehman, founder of KATI. He said that the late Haji Fazal-ur-Rehman founded KATI and former Patron-in-Chief Late SM Muneer together with him made KATI an ideal industrial zone. With their hard work and efforts, today KATI is the largest industrial area of Pakistan, where the top industries of the country are located.
Korangi Administrator Mohammad Sharif Khan said from the event that DMC is taking steps for the improvement of district Korangi with its limited resources, but it is a good move for KATI to take the responsibility of repairing the damaged vehicles and bearing their expenses.
Administrator Muhammad Sharif Khan further said that KATI has taken exemplary steps for the restoration of the industrial area in the past, and now after the expansion in the industrial area, KATI will support further development work. He thanked KATI for fulfilling its social responsibility and actively participating in the betterment of District Korangi.
