Karachi Road Accidents Kill Two as Child Suffers Injuries in DHA Crash
A pickup truck fatally struck a homeless man and injured his young son in DHA, while a separate truck crash on Mauripur Road claimed the life of a woman.

Police investigate the scene after a fatal pickup truck crash in Karachi's DHA.
Karachi road accidents claimed two lives and left a four-year-old child injured after two separate crashes in the city involving pickup trucks on Tuesday and Wednesday, police said.
In the first incident, a pickup truck mounted a footpath in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) during the early hours of Wednesday, killing a homeless man and injuring his young son as they slept.
According to traffic police, the driver was travelling from Khayaban-i-Shujaat towards Khayaban-i-Ittehad when he suddenly turned left at a traffic signal. He lost control of the vehicle, which climbed onto the footpath and struck the father and son.
Residents and passers-by stopped the driver and rushed the injured victims to a private hospital in the same pickup truck.
Doctors pronounced 40-year-old Khadim Husain dead on arrival, while his four-year-old son, Zeeshan, received medical treatment for his injuries.
Darakhshan Station House Officer Rashid Ali said the driver fled from the hospital before police could detain him. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage to identify and arrest the suspect.
Police later shifted Khadim Husain’s body to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.
According to police, the deceased earned a living by selling flowers at traffic signals in DHA alongside his young son.
Woman Dies in Separate Mauripur Road Crash
In a separate accident on Tuesday afternoon, a truck struck a motorcycle near the Marine Academy on Mauripur Road, killing a 50-year-old woman.
Traffic police said the truck driver allegedly drove recklessly before colliding with the motorcycle.
The impact threw pillion rider Hafiza Shahid Ahmed onto the road, causing critical injuries. Rescue workers rushed her to Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.
Police arrested the truck driver at the scene and launched an investigation into the crash.
Authorities said the victim was travelling with her son, who was riding the motorcycle and escaped without injuries.
Police continue to investigate both accidents as concerns grow over reckless driving and road safety across Karachi.
