Karachi, April 2, 2026: Commissioner Karachi, Syed Hassan Naqvi, visited multiple districts, including South, East, and Central, to assess the city’s post-rain situation and oversee drainage operations.

During the inspections, he reviewed ongoing water drainage work and directed Deputy Commissioners and municipal staff to expedite efforts to clear water from low-lying areas and provide relief to affected citizens. He expressed confidence that drainage operations would be completed soon.
Deputy Commissioner East, Nasrullah Abbasi, and Deputy Commissioner Central, Taha Saleem, accompanied the Commissioner during their respective district inspections.
Naqvi emphasized that priority is being given to draining water from major roads and residential areas to minimize inconvenience to the public. He also reminded citizens that the Commissioner Karachi Office’s rescue helpline, 1299, remains active for assistance.
The Commissioner personally inspected areas including Gharibabad, Sakhi Hassan, Nagan Chowrangi, Hasan Square, Old Sabzi Mandi, and nearby localities, ensuring coordination among field teams and relevant agencies for prompt rescue and relief operations.
