John Ternus Takes Over as Apple CEO After 15 Years of Tim Cook

John Ternus officially became Apple CEO on Tuesday, ending Tim Cook’s 15-year tenure at the top of the technology giant.

Cook joined Apple in 1998 and became chief executive in 2011 after co-founder Steve Jobs stepped down because of health problems. He will now serve as executive chairman while continuing to advise the company on key matters.

Who Is John Ternus?

Ternus takes the top job after serving as Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering.
