ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad Capital Police have extended the deadline for citizens to obtain driving licenses by one week, moving it from October 1 to October 7, 2025.
The extension was made on the special instructions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi to provide additional convenience to the public.
According to the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP), a strict crackdown will commence on October 18 against motorists and motorcyclists driving without valid licenses. Offenders will face legal consequences, including arrest and vehicle impoundment.
Authorities further clarified that individuals caught driving without a license will also be ineligible to receive character certificates until they obtain one.
To accommodate the growing demand, ITP has expanded services at facilitation centers, offering extended working hours and deploying mobile units for license issuance.
Police officials have urged citizens to complete the licensing process before the extended deadline to avoid penalties and ensure road safety and compliance with traffic laws.
