The Accountability Court of Islamabad canceled the arrest warrant of Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in the NAB reference on the assets in excess of his income.
Accountability Court Islamabad Judge Muhammad Basheer, while hearing the reference, canceled the arrest warrant of Ishaq Dar and ordered him to submit a surety bond of Rs.
During the hearing, Ishaq Dar appeared in the court along with his lawyer Qazi Misbah.
Ishaq Dar’s lawyer requested the court to permanently cancel the arrest warrant of Ishaq Dar.
Ishaq Dar’s lawyer Qazi Misbah further requested that the order of confiscation of Ishaq Dar’s property should also be lifted, Ishaq Dar is now before the court.
Judge Muhammad Bashir inquired whether NAB itself had issued any warrant for Ishaq Dar.
The investigating officer told the court that NAB had issued warrants but they were suspended.
Lawyer Qazi Misbah said that the court had issued warrants only for the attendance of Ishaq Dar.
The court asked NAB what is your position now, should the warrants be canceled or not?
The NAB prosecutor also supported the cancellation of the warrant and said that the court’s warrant was only for the attendance of Ishaq Dar.
Ishaq Dar’s lawyer told the court that Ishaq Dar had to go abroad to attend a conference.
The court declared that the supplementary reference has also come, under which the charge sheet has to be made again.
Ishaq Dar’s lawyer said that we will argue on this, the supplementary reference is not made.
The lawyer filed a petition against confiscation of property on behalf of Ishaq Dar.
A petition for permanent exemption from attendance of Ishaq Dar was also filed.
The court issued a notice to the NAB on the petitions against Ishaq Dar’s attendance and against the property seizure, and sought a response from the NAB by October 12 and adjourned the hearing of the case to next Wednesday, October 12.
