Karachi: Chief Executive of RK Sports Management, Rais Khan, has welcomed Iran’s decision to participate in the FIFA World Cup 2026, stating that football fans have expressed happiness over the development. He also appreciated FIFA President Gianni Infantino for his efforts in ensuring Iran’s inclusion in the global tournament.
In a statement, Rais Khan said that following Iran’s announcement to boycott the FIFA World Cup 2026, RK Sports Management had appealed to the FIFA President to play his role in ensuring Iran’s participation. “We are grateful to the FIFA President for responding promptly to our appeal. He, along with his team, met officials of the Iran Football Federation in Turkey and persuaded them to take part in the World Cup,” he added.
He further commended the Iran Football Federation for making a courageous decision despite the prevailing war-like situation, noting that football enthusiasts are delighted with Iran’s participation. According to Rais Khan, Iran’s inclusion will enhance the competitive environment and provide fans with thrilling matches.
He also stated that the successful organization of the FIFA World Cup will be a major challenge for FIFA under the current circumstances. However, he expressed hope that the FIFA President and his team would utilize all efforts to ensure a successful tournament despite the situation in the Middle East.
