Karachi: Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon said that due to the tradition of organizing International Mushaira in Karachi, has helped the government’s efforts to promote literary activities in the city.
The Karachi administration values the activities of poetry and literature in the city. The Karachi administration will provide all possible support for the success of the International Mushaira organized by Sakinan-e-Shahar-e-Quaid. Provision of facilities and special security measures will be taken.
In the meeting, a member of the mushaira committee of Sakinan-e-Shahare-Quaid led by Chief Coordinator Mehmood Ahmed Khan included Chairman Musharia Committee Farhan-ur-Rehman, Prof. Ejaz Ahmed Faruqi, Khalid Jameel Shamsi, and Syed Turab Shah at Commissioner Office.
The delegation apprised the Commissioner about the details of the International Mushaira they told that the Mushaira will be held on February 25, 2023. It will be the 28th International Mushaira organized by Sakinan-e-Shahar-e-Quaid.
Prominent foreign and domestic poets will participate in the International Mushaira, and more than 30 poets will participate in it.
Meanwhile, apart from Karachi poets participating from different cities include; Lahore, Islamabad, and Balochistan and foreign poets include; the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, United Arab Emirates, and America.
The Commissioner said that the government has provided ample opportunities for the promotion of literary and cultural activities in Karachi. He said that literary and cultural activities should continue in the city.
