LARKANA – Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed Land Utilization department to transfer the title of Larkana Industrial Estate to the SITE Ltd so that allotment of industrial plots could be initiated.
He also directed Energy department to pay Rs326 million Sui Souther Gas Company challan for provision of gas connection to the Industrial Estate.
He issued these directives while presiding over a meeting on the issue of Larkana Industrial Estate here at the CM House. The meeting was attended by Minister energy Imtiaz Shaikh, Minister Industries Jam Ikram Dharejo, PSCM Sajid Jamal Abro, SMBR Shams Soomro, Secretary Energy Abu Bakar and others.
The chief minister was told that the Industrial Estate Lakana was inaugurated by Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zaradri in January 2021 and now the title of the land has to be transferred to start the allotment of the industrial and commercial plots.
Larkana Industrial Estate has been established over an area of 500 acrea at Deh Samano, taluka Bakrani, District Larkana. Its groundbreaking ceremony was performed in December 2009.
Minister Industries told the CM that the Industrial Estate has been established for Rs2.4 billion which 94 plots, each one of one acre, 20 commercial plots, each one of 1000 square yards and 95.41 acres have nee earmarked for other facilities.
The CM was told that 90 percent work of the project has been completed and procurement of fire tender, ambulance, tractor trollies and security vehicles were in process. &0 percent work of Oxidation pond, 50 percent work of Grid station building has been done.
Minister Energy Imtiaz Shaikh said that the chief minister has approved an amount of Rs326.125 million for gas connection. He added that the NOC of Pakistan Railways was required to cross the gas pipeline from Railway line. The gas is located at 3 km away from SITE area.
The chief minister directed Minister energy to expedite the gas connection work so that plots could be allotted to the industrialists.
Murad termed the establishment of the Industrial Estate in Larkana as a precursor to economical and social change in the area.
