Showbiz Desk: Prominent Indian singer and composer Bappi Lahiri has died at the age of 69 at Mumbai’s CritiCare Hospital.
Dr Deepak Namjoshi, director of the hospital, evaluated: Bappi Lahiri, who had been in the hospital for a month, was discharged from the hospital on Monday. On Tuesday, his condition deteriorated his family called for a doctor to visit their home. He was brought to the hospital. He had multiple health issues. He died due to OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) shortly before midnight”.
Bappi Lahiri’s was known as the rock star of Bollywood. Bappi Lahiri was admitted to CritiCare Hospital in Mumbai due to a chest infection. Bappi Lahiri’s doctor at CritiCare Hospital, Dr Deepak Namjoshi, confirmed the death of Bappi Lahiri and said that when Lahiri was brought to the hospital, his blood pressure was low.
According to the doctor, an attempt was made to a live Bappi Lahiri but it was too late. Lahiri had shared a picture of his childhood with Lata on the death of Lata Mangeshkar a few days ago.
Lehiri holds the Guinness Book of Records, recording 180 songs for 33 films in one year. Bappi Da composed songs for countless Bollywood films including Disco Dancer, Himmatwala, Sharaabi, Adventures of Tarzan, Dance Dance, Satyamev Jayate, Commando, Aaj Ke Shahenshah, Thanedaar, Numbri Aadmi, and Shola Aur Shabnam.
In the last decade, Bappi Lahiri’s has sung famous songs like ‘O Lala’ from the movie ‘The Dirty Picture’ and ‘Tune Maari Entriyaan’ from film Gunday.
He last composed the song ‘Bhankas’ for the 2020 film Baaghi 3, the last time Bappi Da appeared on an Indian reality show with Salman Khan.
Bappi Lahiri’s real name was Alokesh Lahiri. He was born on 27 November 1952 in Jalpaiguri, India. Bappi Da has been interested in singing since his childhood. He has also acted in many small and big films. Lahiri gave many memorable songs to Bollywood in the 80’s and gained a place in the world of singing.
Bappi Lahiri’s personality was characterized by his gold chain and sunglasses. The successful musician had also entered politics. He had joined the BJP in 2014.
