New Delhi: The fact-finding committee has held the BJP government, police and media responsible for the Muslim riots in Delhi in February 2020.

According to the report of Kashmir Media Service, the fact-finding committee headed by the former judge of the Supreme Court of India, Madan B. Lokur, held the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs, Delhi Police, Bharatiya Janata Party and the media responsible for the Muslim riots that took place in Northeast Delhi in February 2020. has been held.

According to the report, other members of the committee included former Chief Justice of Delhi and Madras High Court AP Shah, former Delhi High Court Judge RSS Sodhi, former Patna High Court Judge Anjana Prakash and former Indian Home Secretary GK Pillai. .

“The five-member committee concluded that the lackadaisical response of the Union Home Ministry, the partisan role of the Delhi Police, the divisive media narrative and the Bharatiya Janata Party’s hate campaign against Muslims contributed to the communal riots in Delhi,” the report said. are collectively responsible.

The fact-finding committee said that the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs clearly delayed the deployment of additional forces in areas affected by anti-Muslim riots between 23 and 26 February 2020.

The committee added that the Delhi Police had received at least six alerts from the Special Branch and Intelligence units on February 23, but despite this, additional forces were belatedly deployed on February 26.
