KARACHI – Leadership of Koranghi Association  of Trade & Industry(KATI) has sharply reacted  over hours long power outage in Korangi Industrial Area(KIA)  by K-Electric and termed it as a threat to the industrial production and exports of the country. President KATI Danish Khan, Senior Vice President Faraz-ur-Rehman and Vice President Maheen Salman showed grave concern over power interruption in the area since due to rain power supply infrastructure completely collapsed in the city, noted in a joint statement.

The area is facing hours long power outage during and after the rain, K-Electric use to hide its incapability and shortcoming  behind lame excuses and the industry of the area was suffering a great deal of difficulties” he said . He said that PM Khan always urged promotion of exports for the economic prosperity of the country but without uninterrupted power supply this task wouldn’t be achievable.

He also noted that interruption of power not only effects the production but it is also risked the industrial machinery which could be another financial burden for already suffering industries. He urged the PM Khan to take urgent notice of the situation. “If administration of K-Electric would have fulfilled the promises of investment in power supply infrastructure the current disastrous situation never would happen, government should acquire the company to provide relief to citizen and industry” he demanded.
