Lahore Pakistan – The Lahore Branch Council (LBC) of ICMA organized a Pre-Budget seminar 2023-24 on 5th May, 2023. Mr. Zahid Pervaiz, President, Lahore Tax Bar Association was the Chief Guest and Mr. Zia ul Mustafa FCMA, Chairman, Strategic Board ICMA was the Guest of Honor at the occasion. Mr. Abdul Razzaq, Chairman LBC opened the house for discussion.
The speakers stated that: Pakistan currently faces an unprecedented economic crisis, however structural reforms and proper budgeting can steer us out of the difficult situation. The main objective of the national budget is to ensure stable levels of growth and employment in order to effectively tackle the challenges posed by the global economy and to address the fundamental structural issues regarding fiscal and trade deficits, to promote economic stability, to control inflation, and to improve the human development index of the country. Clear business policies and a focus on foreign investment are the need of the hour. Confidence-building measures are the basic parameters required for local and foreign investment in the country.
