Former Pakistan Bowler Mohammad Sami Has Claimed That He Broke Shoaib Akhtar’s Fast Ball Record Twice During A Match.
According to Pakistani media, Mohammad Sami said that the speed gun was not working in the match in which I broke Shoaib Akhtar’s record of bowling at a speed of 160 km per hour twice.
Pakistan has produced many legendary fast bowlers who have dominated the game in the last few decades.
The legendary duo of Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis plagued the batting line-up till the 90’s, while Shoaib Akhtar’s fast paced the opposition till the 2000’s.
Apart from this, many other fast bowlers like Mohammad Sami, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir have given impressive performances for Pakistan.
Akhtar holds the record for the fastest delivery in international cricket, which he made against New Zealand in 2002. The speed of this delivery was recorded at 160 kmph on a speed gun.
However, Sami has now claimed that he crossed the speed of 160 kmph on two occasions during the match, and that his speed was better than Akhtar’s.
“There was a match where I bowled two balls at a speed of 162 kmph and 164 kmph,” Muhammad Sami told local media. But I was told that the bowling machine was not working, so they were not counted.
The former Pakistani bowler further said that bowlers who went beyond the 160 km per hour mark have been able to do so only on selected occasions.
