Message of President Hum Network
Commenting on the 21st edition of the Bridal Couture Week, Sultana Siddiqui,
President, HUM Network Limited (HNL), said our purpose should be to promote
Pakistan first and foremost, and whatever problems exist around us, we must
overcome them and continue on with life. “Our show highlights designers and
craftsmen with their intricate designing and embroidery and this labour of love,
is a source of livelihood for them.”
Siddiqui further added that since her profession involves the media, her network
should highlight the arts and government organizations
such as TDAP – which promotes culture and arts and focuses aggressively on it
as their reach is greater. She said her network is willing to help and promote
local craftsmanship in collaboration with TDAP, whenever it is required.
“We feel the pain of the human tragedy taking place in the Middle East. The loss
of life of innocent civilians is heart-breaking for all of us,” she said commenting
on the atrocities going on in Gaza, and added that her organization will extend
support to the people of Gaza through Momina and Duraid Foundation, for
which they are already collecting funds.
